This trip delivered exactly what we wanted - close sightings of Blue Whales. We went with Max, is reassuringly safety-conscious, has knowledgeable, friendly staff and is respectful of the whales.

We arrived at 6.30am for a 7am departure, and were told we would spend up to 5 hours looking for Blue Whales, returning once we had got good sightings. Water, a breakfast sandwich and sea-sickness pills(!) were included in the price.

We were very fortunate - our first, rather distant, sightings came after 30 minutes; then after another 15 minutes we got a series of much closer sightings of 2 adults.

Our boat kept a decent distance from the creatures - close enough to give us a good view (improved by our binoculars) but not so close as to disturb them. And, having seen them at this distance for 30 minutes or so, we returned to shore, getting back about 9.30am. Excellent. Thanks Max.

We booked our trip with Max in advance. They served us breakfast before take off which was quite good. The crew were a very friendly lot, ever willing to help in every way. They look after the little children, the passengers who felt sea sick. It was a very pleasant trip in the whole. We saw quite a lot of whales, but not many dolphins. Hats off to the Max and crew.

Great morning at the ocean!

We arrived at 06:00 at the boat and had almost the best spot. I guess the best is at the front, after that left or right from the stairs.

We took off at 6:45 and saw many whales till a certain moment we all got enough and moved back to the harbor. So what else you want?! On our way back we saw other boats coming in to see most probably less than us, so the early bird catches the worm and gets the nice sunrise light for beautiful pictures. Best of luck with the company Max, just do not get too close to the whales to not disturb them.whales till a certain moment we all got enough and moved back to the harbor. So what else you want?!
